Mama's Chicken is a family owned business that was founded in 1964 by Elbert Hall, Jr. as a small hamburger stand with only enough room for one employee. Through the combined collaborations of Elbert Hall, Jr. and Karen Whitman over the past 44 years, Mama's Chicken has continued to serve the Crenshaw District and visitors afar for over 50 years as featured in the Los Angeles Eater (download article).
